CLEVELAND, Ga. — White County will host a public information open house on Tuesday, Oct. 14, to give residents a chance to learn more about the proposed Floating Local Option Sales Tax (FLOST).

The event will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the White County Administration Building, 1235 Helen Highway in Cleveland.

FLOST is a proposed local sales tax option that, if approved by voters, would generate new revenue to help provide property tax relief for all White County property owners.

During the open house, attendees may visit a series of educational stations explaining how FLOST works, what it means for the community, and how it could benefit local taxpayers. County staff and representatives from area cities will be on hand to answer questions and share informational materials.

The public is invited to stop by at any time during the event. For those unable to attend, detailed information about the FLOST proposal is available online at whitecountyflost.com.
