White County got into the Halloween spirit — from county offices to senior citizens, the creativity was on full display this week.

County departments took part in the 10th Annual White County Government Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Human Resource Coordinator Krystal Talley said each department chose its own theme and competed for top honors based on originality, adherence to the theme, and attention to detail.

“It gets tougher every year,” Talley said. “The judges really have a hard task choosing winners.”

Across town, the White County Senior Center also celebrated with its annual Halloween Costume Contest. Seniors showed off their most imaginative looks, and Senior Center Director Barbara Overton said the room was filled with “creativity and a fun time by all.”
