Hickory Nut Mountain and Gorge View residents in Tallulah Falls can return to normal water use after successful conservation efforts helped avoid a service outage during recent pump house repairs.
According to the city, the system had been operating with only half a tank of stored water while crews worked on repairs. Officials warned earlier this week that the supply could run short unless residents immediately cut back. Customers responded quickly by limiting non-essential water use, such as lawn watering, car washing, and unnecessary laundry or dishwasher cycles.
“Hickory Nut Mountain and Gorge View water customers did a great job of conserving water while the pump station was being repaired, and we were able to avoid a water outage,” city officials said.
With repairs now complete, the water tank has been restored to a satisfactory level, and normal usage may resume.
