Hall County Sheriff’s investigators are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect who stole a 2021 Dodge Challenger Hellcat.
The car was taken from a residence on Magnetic Point Saturday evening, July 26. Investigators say the suspect came to the victim’s home to view the car, which was for sale.
The victim took the man, described as wearing a black shirt and a red Atlanta Hawks hat, on two test drives. When they returned to the home, both men stepped out of the car. As soon as the victim closed his door, the suspect jumped back in, started the car, and drove away, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
Video captured from inside the victim’s car shows that he tried to follow the car but lost sight of it on Spout Springs Road. The car was last seen speeding east toward Capitola Farm Road near Flowery Branch.
Deputies issued a BOLO for the vehicle, described as a black 2021 Dodge Challenger Hellcat with Georgia tag number CDQ3950. Investigators say it may have a scratch on the passenger side.
Anyone with information about the suspect or the car’s location is asked to contact Investigator Heath Higman at 770-297-4550.
