CLARKESVILLE — Two people were injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Ga. 17 in the area of Cool Springs Road.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene around 9:15 a.m. Thursday. Troopers say a Ford F-350 was traveling east in the Exxon Gas Station Parking Lot. A Ford Focus was traveling south on Georgia Highway 17.

The driver of the pickup failed to yield while turning left onto the highway and ran into the path of the Focus.

Both drivers were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment of their injuries.

The wreck blocked traffic in both directions for just over an hour before the roadway reopened.
