GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Authorities are investigating an accident that claimed the life of an 18-month-old child late Sunday morning.
Emergency crews were called to a home in the 200 block of Oakland Drive around 11 a.m. after reports that a toddler had been struck by a vehicle.
According to police, family members were present at the residence when one relative moved a vehicle in the driveway. In the process, the child was accidentally run over and died at the scene.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing. Officials have not released the child’s name.
