Three juveniles arrested for Phenix City homicide

Three juveniles were arrested for the shooting death of Joseph Tassoni in Phenix City, AL. According to a press release from the Phenix City Police Department on November 26, 2025, at approximately 02:14 PM the Phenix City Police Department Patrol
Division responded to 42 Cricket Dr. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, responding officers found Joseph Tassoni deceased at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds. The Criminal Investigations Division responded and began an investigation.

On November 29, 2025, the Phenix City Police Department Special Response Team, the
Russell County Sheriff’s Office STAR Team, and the Lee County SWAT Team executed
multiple residential search warrants. Three juveniles, all 15 years old, were arrested and
charged with Capital Murder (Robbery). The juveniles were later transported to a youth
detention center where they are currently being held.
