It was copy and paste from last year when Jefferson got beaten by North Oconee 35-0. This year, it was the same result, only a different location as the #1-ranked Titans (4-0) upended #1 Jefferson (4-1).
The Dragons got out to a bad start, as the offense went three and out, and Max Brown was hurt on the first play from scrimmage due to an apparent ankle/foot injury. Harrison Faulkner used a short field and threw a dot to 4-star UGA commit Khamari Brooks for a 36-yd TD. The Titans’ next drive bled into the second, and Faulkner, a Georgia Southern 3-star commit, found Charlie Hawkins on a 9-yard slant for the 14-0 lead.
It continued to snowball for the Dragons, as their punt attempt was blocked, and two plays later Braxton Goolsby was galloping in for a 29-yard TD and the 21-0 lead.
Colton Grant heaved a ball downfield that was picked off by Hawkins and returned deep into the Dragons’ territory. Moments later, Faulkner connected with Brooks, who dragged defenders about the last 10 yards into the end zone for a 20-yard TD. That put the game well out of reach at 28-0 heading into the break.
Faulkner, son of Georgia Tech Offensive Coordinator Buster Faulkner, threw a 49-yard TD pass in the third to 3-star Kentucky commit Dallas Dickerson.
Faulkner tallied four TD passes, while Brooks had two scores.
