
CLEVELAND, Ga. — First responders with White County Public Safety were dispatched to Yonah Mountain Thursday night in an attempt to locate an injured hiker. A social media post from White County Public Safety said that around 7:17 p.m., rescue teams had made contact with the individual.
A later update said the rescue team was making their way out with the individual, along with four additional hikers. No other details are available.
This is the second rescue this week on Mount Yonah.
Monday afternoon, rescue personnel were dispatched to the mountain after a male hiker fell and couldn’t move. Crews carried the hiker down the mountain to an awaiting ambulance, which transported him to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment.
