FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Hall County School District is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who pulled a gun after last Thursday night’s football game at Flowery Branch High School.

The incident happened on October 30 as the Cedar Shoals High School team walked from the field toward the locker room. Deputies say two masked individuals in black hoodies followed the players into a nearby parking lot, confronted them, and made threats.

Coaches intervened and urged the pair to leave. Investigators say one of the masked suspects then pulled out a handgun.

An Athens-Clarke County School Police officer approached, and the suspects ran. The officer chased them but lost sight of them. Additional Hall County deputies, including a K-9 team and school resource officers, searched the area but could not find the suspects.

No Flowery Branch students were threatened, according to authorities, but law enforcement increased patrols on campus Friday as a precaution.

Superintendent Will Schofield called the act “absolutely unacceptable.”

“Bringing a weapon to one of our campuses and putting students, team members, and community members at risk is absolutely unacceptable,” Schofield said. “We will do all that is within our ability to hold the individual who committed this crime accountable.”

The investigation remains active.
