Piedmont University volleyball has named J’ernai Argilagos as its new assistant coach ahead of the 2025 season.

Argilagos comes to Demorest after coaching with Trinity Volleyball Academy in Jefferson, where she worked with beginner and intermediate players on fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship. She also brings leadership experience from roles in athletics, customer service, and community engagement.

“It is truly special to welcome J’ernai to our staff,” said Head Coach Kat Tatum. “I coached her for two years at A5 Gwinnett, and seeing her step into the college ranks is an incredible moment. We are thrilled for her to bring her energy, experience, and passion to Piedmont.”

Argilagos played two seasons at Division III Wilmington University in Delaware following eight years of club and high school competition.

“Volleyball has given me so much more than just a sport; it’s shaped my character and my confidence,” Argilagos said. “To now step into college coaching and pour into student-athletes the way my coaches poured into me is such a meaningful opportunity. What makes it even more special is that Coach Kat Tatum, who once guided me as a player, now believes in me enough to welcome me onto her staff. It’s a true full-circle blessing, and I couldn’t be more thankful.”

A 2025 graduate of the University of Georgia, Argilagos earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. At UGA, she was active in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., serving as Social Action Co-Chair and leading community service initiatives.
