A new home development is getting underway in Cleveland that offers prospective new home buyers some great options. Modtec Homes held their White County Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 21, on West Jarrard Street.

The West Jarrard Village offers quality pre-fabricated 800 square foot, 2-bedroom homes that are designed to meet a special need in our community.

Tom Williams with Modtec speaking on WRWH  93.9 FM Friday morning talked about the quality put into each home,” They’re completely finished when they get set in place. They’re lifted in with the crane brought in by trucks. They’re super strong, amazing strength. They weigh the two buildings together, weighing about 23,000 tons. So they’re really heavy.”

The homes are constructed here in Cleveland, and Williams says they are also providing employment, “We have a student we hired from out of White County (High School). They have a work program there. Kathy London heads that up, and he’s working with us now, and he’s going to go to trade school and continue to work with us,” said Williams.

The homeowners’ association will handle the outside maintenance, grass cutting, trimming, and other outside work.

Modtech held an open house Saturday, August 23, for prospective buyers to stop by and visit.
