MT. AIRY, Ga. — Two people suffered minor injuries Friday afternoon when a commercial truck rear-ended an SUV on GA 365 at GA 197.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the crash happened at 1:39 p.m. on September 26. A GMC Yukon had stopped in the northbound right lane at the red light when it was struck from behind by an International commercial vehicle.
Troopers identified the truck driver as 50-year-old David McKnight of Atlanta. Investigators say McKnight was following too closely and was unable to stop when traffic halted at the intersection.
Four people were inside the Yukon at the time of the crash. Two passengers reported minor injuries and were treated at the scene, authorities said.
Traffic was temporarily slowed while troopers and emergency crews cleared the wreck. Troopers charged McKnight with following too closely.
