Joan Lewallen Kimbrell, age 84 of Demorest, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015.
Born in Banks County on May 1, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Imogene Rylee Lewallen. Mrs. Kimbrell was retired from Carwood Manufacturing and was a member of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church. Â She enjoyed sewing and camping in her spare time.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Kimbrell; brother, John Henry Lewallen; sister, Frances Turner.
Surviving are daughters and son-in-law, Judy Lewallen and Sandra and Jeff Cowan all of Demorest; grandchildren, Barry, Brandon and Brandy Cowan, Billy Lewallen and Carla Evans; great grandchildren, Kayh Redmon and Justin Evans; brother, Felton Lewallen of Commerce.
Funeral services are 2 pm Monday, October 12, 2015, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
