Hall County Sheriff’s Office arrests brothers in armed robbery case

GAINESVILLE, GA – The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) announced Tuesday the arrest of two Gainesville brothers in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in early November on Skelton Road.

Santiago Morales Villalobos, 27, and his twin brother, Fredik Morales Villalobos, both of Gainesville, were apprehended by HCSO deputies following a coordinated search.

Details of the apprehension

The arrests took place on Tuesday, November 18. According to the HCSO, Santiago Morales Villalobos was located and arrested by deputies from the Patrol, K9, and Warrant Service Units at approximately 3 p.m. He was found hiding in the back of an SUV at a gas station at the intersection of McEver Road and Mundy Mill Road.

Fredik Morales Villalobos was subsequently located and arrested about an hour later at an apartment in the 800 block of Summit Street SW.

Charges filed

The brothers face one count each of armed robbery and theft by taking.

According to a preliminary investigation conducted by the HCSO Special Investigations Unit (SIU), the suspects allegedly used a machete to commit the robbery. The victim, a 50-year-old man, was reportedly robbed of a leaf blower. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were sustained during the incident.

Following their arrests, both men were transported and booked into the Hall County Jail. They are currently being held without bond.
