Union County opens a new era with Rob Stowe taking over the program. He inherits a team that got a jump-start with some young guys last year thrust into the fire. They’re better for it coming into this year, and there’s a lot to be excited about with playoff aspirations, as the program has made seven straight playoff runs.

Returning Starters: 7 on offense; 6 on defense
Key Returning Players: Cade Dockrey, Kamden Kendrick, Tyler Parker, Micah Wallace, Bentley Rich
Up & Coming Players: OT Logan Clason (JR) is 6’6, 320 lbs, and comes in from Florida. Sophomores Sean Rossa, Mikey Davis (LB), and Jaxon Dillinger (DE) should have breakout seasons.
Offense: Spread
Shotgun with a lot of RPO and QB runs. That’s the game for Union. It’s a QB battle between Kamden Kendrick and SR Cade Dockrey, who tore his ACL in the scrimmage last season before then-freshman Kendrick took over. The featured ball-carriers are set to be JR Bentley Rich and SR Daniel McPhee, and at wideout it’ll be SR Tyler Parker along with the junior trio of Chetley Cox, Sir Thompson, and Rob Thompson.
Defense: Multiple
Multiple look on defense, but predominately an event front. A few of the names you’ll hear quite a bit on this side will be SO LB Micah Wallace, who had a monster freshman year, and JRs Brandon Lynch (LB) and Gunnar Franklin (DT).
Trenches: “We have really good starters at OL and DL….basically going both ways a lot,” says Stowe. “Have to develop depth. JR OTs Jaxon Totherow and Logan Clason are very good. SR C Trent Webster and SR OG Kye Burnette bring a lot of experience.”
Strengths & Areas of Focus
Strengths: “Quality players on both sides of the line of scrimmage,” says Stowe. “We have some size, experience, and leadership there.”
Focusing On: “Just being the best version of Union County,” adds Stowe. “It is a process that you must attack every single day in everything you do. Mainly working on the mental and physical toughness it requires to win.”
