Global War on Terrorism Memorial attracts hundreds for 9/11 ceremony

Global War on Terrorism Memorial

The National Infantry Museum hosted hundreds of Gold Star families for the rededication ceremony of the Global War on Terrorism Memorial. The museum hosts these families during the weekend prior to 9/11 when they share their stories and find comfort in similar company-a time and place where they know their service member has not been forgotten.

The granite panels in the memorial are etched with over 7,000 names of every Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine killed during the Global War on Terrorism launched after the attacks of 9/11.

The National Infantry Museum will hold moments of silence during the morning of 9/11 in remembrance of all those who died during the attacks.
