GAINESVILLE, Ga. — A Gainesville lottery player is celebrating a multimillion-dollar win after claiming a $2.5 million top prize from the Georgia Lottery.
The winning ticket was purchased at Casa Blanca, 1785 Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville. The lucky player won playing the $2,500,000 Cash Multiplier scratch-off game and claimed their prize on September 5, according to lottery officials.
The Gainesville winner is among several players across Northeast Georgia who have recently scored big. Earlier this month, a Barrow County resident claimed a $2 million top prize, and a Powerball ticket sold in Commerce won $1 million.
Other recent lottery windfalls include a $3 million prize-winning ticket sold in Dahlonega and two Gainesville residents who became millionaires with their Mega Millions and scratch-off ticket wins.
