A GoFundMe account has been created to help the family of Erica Blascom Anderson. The 31-year-old CSU professor was accidentally shot and killed by her roommate inside a residence on 17th Avenue in Columbus on October 13.
Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan said there are specific details that allowed him and the Columbus Police Department to determine the shooting was accidental.
According to the fundraiser, Anderson is survived by three children and her husband, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. Donations will go toward funeral arrangements and helping the family with expenses as they begin to navigate life without Erica.
The CSU professor was here from Indiana and in her first semester with the University’s Department of Theatre and Dance. CSU President Stuart Rayfield said, “Our hearts and prayers go out to her family and friends, as well as the students she impacted.”
