A spokesman for Columbus Fire and EMS said five people were displaced after an apartment fire the night of November 2, 2025. The structure fire demolished an entire unit at the Ballard Way Apartments.
Why the five residents were still on the property remains unclear. The Apartments at 5600 Hunter Road are currently deemed vacant and one resident said they were told to vacate the premises by October 1, 2025. Calls to the apartment complex were not returned for comment.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
