A violent altercation at a White County campground left two people hospitalized and four others facing felony charges following what investigators described as a brutal group assault.

Deputies responded to Low Gap Campground on July 26 after reports of a stabbing and assault. When they arrived, they discovered a 44-year-old woman, Krista Wilson of Lula, had allegedly attacked a 20-year-old woman from Waco, Georgia. During the struggle, the young woman stabbed Wilson in what authorities say was self-defense.

As the assault unfolded, the victim’s 58-year-old father was also attacked. Investigators say he was struck with a glass beer bottle, leaving him with a severe throat laceration, and was beaten while on the ground. He was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville in critical condition. Wilson was also hospitalized with serious injuries.

White County sheriff’s investigators determined the father and daughter were assaulted by a group of four people, three from Lula, and the fourth, Joshua Miller, of Clarkesville. They charged Krista Wilson with aggravated assault and battery. In addition, deputies arrested:

Joshua Wilson (42) – aggravated assault, battery
Joshua Miller (32) – aggravated assault, battery
Charles Miller (39) – aggravated assault, battery

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities say more charges are possible.
