DAHLONEGA, Ga. — The annual Dahlonega Christmas Parade will return to the historic downtown square Saturday, Dec. 13, bringing holiday floats, marching groups and festive entertainment to the city as part of the Old Fashioned Christmas celebration.
The parade is scheduled to begin at noon at the Holly Theater. From there, it will travel east on Main Street to Old Courthouse Hill before turning around and returning to the Holly Theater. Organizers note that spectators who remain in one spot along the route will be able to enjoy the parade twice as entries pass by in both directions.
The parade will feature decorated vehicles, community organizations, school groups and local businesses celebrating the season. The event traditionally draws large crowds to downtown Dahlonega and serves as one of the signature holiday attractions in Lumpkin County.
Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to secure viewing spots and to expect temporary road closures in and around the downtown area during the parade. Following the event, visitors can continue to enjoy holiday shopping, dining and seasonal activities around the square.
The Christmas Parade is part of a full slate of December programming in Dahlonega, including concerts, special events and family-friendly activities. Additional details are available on the event’s official website.
