When the air turns crisp and the leaves set Northeast Georgia ablaze with color, hundreds of cyclists know it’s time to return to the mountains.
On Saturday, October 25, Tallulah Falls School will host the 11th annual Twin Rivers Challenge, a ride that blends the beauty of autumn with the power of education.
Scenic routes for every rider
The Twin Rivers Challenge has become a premier cycling tradition, drawing participants from across the Southeast. Riders can choose from three distances—25, 46, or 70 miles—each weaving through the rolling hills and river valleys of Habersham and Rabun counties.
The courses follow quiet backroads and trace the banks of the Tallulah and Soque rivers, offering cyclists panoramic views of Northeast Georgia’s fall landscape. E-bikes are welcome, making the event accessible to a wider range of riders.

More than a bike ride
While the scenery is spectacular, organizers say what makes the ride truly special is the experience.
Riders can look forward to TFS hospitality at its best: full ride support, a guaranteed T-shirt for those registered by October 15, and a delicious post-ride meal to celebrate the day.
Dozens of volunteers, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community supporters, work together to ensure the event runs seamlessly.
Pedaling for scholarships
Since its start, the Twin Rivers Challenge has raised more than $675,000 to support student scholarships at Tallulah Falls School. More than 80% of TFS students receive financial aid, and every dollar from the ride goes directly toward helping motivated students pursue their education.
The event is made possible through the continued support of area business partners.
