Columbus woman mauled to death by her own dogs

A Columbus woman was mauled to death by her own dogs Saturday night according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

The 68-year-old victim was attacked by seven dogs that lived with her and her husband on Josephine Street in East Columbus. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene.

The dogs were pit bulls according to the coroner. They were impounded by the city and there is no word on their fate.
