CLEVELAND, Ga. — A Cleveland woman faces charges after deputies say she assaulted a man during an argument inside a moving vehicle last month in Hall County.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators charged Taylor Brianna Barrett, 29, with battery under the Family Violence Act, third-degree cruelty to children, and interfering with an emergency call.

Deputies with the HCSO Warrant Service Unit located and arrested Barrett on Friday morning, Oct. 31, in the 600 block of Dean Street in Clermont.

Investigators say Barrett was riding as a passenger when she punched the 29-year-old driver multiple times in the head during an argument. The incident happened Saturday afternoon, Sept. 13, as the pair traveled on Clarks Bridge Road.

A child was in the vehicle at the time. According to the sheriff’s office, Barrett prevented the child from calling 911 during the confrontation. The victim stopped near Clarks Bridge Road and Lula Road, where Barrett got out.

The White County Sheriff’s Office notified Hall County deputies the same day. HCSO investigators secured warrants for Barrett’s arrest on Oct. 28.

Barrett was booked into the Hall County Jail and later released on a $5,000 bond on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 1.

The case remains under investigation.
