
The Cleveland City Council will hold the final two public hearings on the adoption of the 2025 tax millage rate and digest on Thursday, August 14.
The first public hearing will be held at 8 a.m., followed by another at 4:30 p.m. The Cleveland mayor and council are expected to adopt the tax millage rate during a called meeting at 4:45 p.m. after the final hearing.
All the meetings will be held at Oak Springs Community Center/Police located at 342 Campbell Street, Cleveland.
Cleveland leaders announced their intentions to retain the current millage rate of 5.056 mills. This would increase the property city taxes by 1.04% over the rollback millage rate.
White County millage rate
On August 11, the White County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution setting the combined 2025 county and school portion tax millage rate at 20.567. Of that, the county would receive 8.842 mills (dollars per thousand of assessed value), with the school district receiving 11.725 mills.
