Christian literature drive underway; donated books and Bibles needed

Community members are being asked to donate new and gently used Christian literature—Bibles, books, magazines, and other printed materials—to be packed and shipped to communities and churches around the world. (Love Packages/Facebook)

CLARKESVILLE, Ga. — Hills Crossing Baptist Church is once again partnering with the international ministry Love Packages to share the Word of God with people around the world. The church will host its 8th Annual Christian Literature Drive on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the church in Clarkesville.

Since launching the event, organizers say they’ve collected more than 100 tons of Christian literature—enough to potentially reach 8 million people with the Gospel. The donated materials are shipped overseas and distributed in countries where access to Christian books and Bibles is limited.

How to help

Community members can support the effort in several ways:

  • Donate new or gently used Christian materials by dropping them off at Hills Crossing Baptist Church during the drive.
  • Volunteer to help collect and sort donations.
  • Contribute financially to help cover shipping costs.
  • Spread the word by collecting materials in advance.

Donations may include:

  • Bibles (new or used)
  • Daily devotionals and tracts
  • Nonfiction Christian books and paperbacks
  • Christian magazines (excluding Guideposts and Missions Magazine)
  • Sunday school supplies (writing allowed; no crafts or handiwork)
  • CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays (no VHS or cassette tapes)
