The Chattahoochee Mountain Fair will pause on Thursday, September 11, to both remember the events of 9/11 and celebrate its own milestone anniversary.

At 5:30 p.m., Grant Reeves Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7720 will host a brief remembrance service inside the fair’s main pavilion. The ceremony will honor veterans and first responders, with numerous uniformed law enforcement and fire/medical personnel present. Attendees should be aware the service will include a cannon firing and rifle volleys outside.

Uniformed personnel will receive free admission to the fair until 5:30 p.m.

Immediately following, at 6 p.m., the fair will celebrate its 50th year with a special ceremony. Organizers say more than a half-dozen surprise recognitions are planned for individuals who have played key roles in the fair’s growth and success.
