Patrick Fargason

Patrick Fargason is a seasoned journalist and skilled communicator with more than 25 years of writing experience. Born and raised in Savannah, he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1999 from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. Fargason began his career as a producer and sports director at WBMQ-AM and WTKS-AM in Savannah, where he produced two award-winning morning drive talk radio programs and served as a color analyst for high school football coverage. He also covered local high school sports for the Savannah Morning News. In 2010, Fargason moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where he served as a marketing specialist, press secretary, and media spokesman for Governors Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis. A master of crisis communications, he played a key role in Florida’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Champlain Towers condominium collapse. Fargason returned to Georgia in 2023 and led two weekly newspapers in Northeast Georgia as editor and publisher: The Hartwell Sun and The White County News. In addition to his writing for Now Habersham, he serves as communications coordinator for the Georgia Independent College Association. He lives in Cornelia with his wife, Renee, and their three children, Logan, Reid, and Vivian. Fargason has a passion for golf, high school sports, and college football. He enjoys long weekends, live music, and beating his children at video games.
