Habersham County Schools are celebrating a record milestone after the Georgia Department of Education released its 2025 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) scores. According to school superintendent Patrick Franklin, the district now ranks first in the 14-district Pioneer RESA region and among the top 25 school systems in Georgia for graduation rates and student achievement.
Record-breaking scores
The district earned a composite CCRPI score of 81.2—its highest regional ranking ever. The Class of 2025 posted a 98% graduation rate, the best in the region for the second straight year. Habersham also placed in the top 15 statewide for graduation rates among economically disadvantaged students.
Superintendent Patrick Franklin credited the results to teamwork and shared purpose.
“We are proud of the progress we’ve made toward fulfilling our mission of Success for All Students,” Franklin said. “These results reflect what can be accomplished when a school community works together with a shared vision.”
Hazel Grove earns state recognition

Alongside the districtwide achievement, Hazel Grove Elementary School was named a Title I Reward School, placing it in the top 5% statewide for academic growth and success in closing achievement gaps.
Principal Stefanie Eaton praised the recognition as a community-wide effort.
“This recognition is a reflection of the hard work of our students, teachers, and families—and the strong commitment we share to helping every child succeed,” she said.
Dr. Renee York, Director of Federal Programs, emphasized that the honor underscores a core belief in the system’s approach to education.
“The award affirms the belief that every child can succeed regardless of background.”
