(GPB News)- The Netflix original series Stranger Things is back Nov. 26 for its fifth and final season. Four of the eight total episodes will be dropped on Wednesday with the rest premiering on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

It’s a milestone both for fans but also for Georgia’s entertainment industry, with iconic locations from the show sprinkled across the state.

At one of them, an Airbnb in suburban Fayetteville, a flickering ’80s-style TV welcomes guests to the actual home of characters Joyce, Jonathan and Will Byers from Stranger Things.

The exterior of the home located in the fictional Indiana town of Hawkins was used in shots of the show. The home’s interior was used as a model for scenes filmed on a sound stage.

Painted on the wall of the living room is an alphabet lined by rainbow Christmas lights, a replica of iconic scenes from Season 1 of the show. Twisted vines in a red-lit hallway mimic the show’s “Upside Down,” leading guests into a room styled with bunkbeds, special effects and a tangible game of Dungeons and Dragons.

In a bedroom on the left, a record player that’s teed up with canon music from the TV show, like “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush, off her 1985 Hounds of Love album.

“And for me, it’s like going in and listening to some records in Jonathan’s room — that’s my favorite part,” said Alejandro Chouza, a real estate investor who bought the Byers home in 2022.

Chouza said the house took over a year to style with vintage pieces from in and around Atlanta. Also involved were designers with experience on movie sets to establish other details that seep the Airbnb into 1980s nostalgia.

Since then, over 7,000 of fans have bought shares to own a piece of the property. Chouza hopes they and other guests will keep the house busy long after the series finale.

“Ultimately it’s them that get excited about the property and they love to visit,” he said. “And we hope to do a lot of cool stuff over the next coming years.”

The Byers House is currently booked through April of next year, with fans of Stranger Things scheduled to stay throughout the release of the final season.

Other filming locations in Georgia include the city of Jackson (used as a backdrop for downtown Hawkins), Gwinnett Place Mall, a quarry in Atlanta, and a mansion in North Georgia’s Rome.
