Harold J. Welborn, age 72 of Cornelia, passed away April 7, 2016.
Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on April 11, 1944, he was a son of the late Joseph Lawrence Welborn and Harriett Worley Welborn. Mr. Welborn was a member of Stonepile Baptist Church. Â He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, tinkering, gardening, especially growing tomatoes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Â Mr. Welborn was the youngest of 13 children.
Survivors include wife of 53 years, Val Welborn of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law; Daren and Angela Welborn of Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Farrell Hughes, Sharon & Tracy Morris, all of Demorest; sisters, Marie Chastain of Mt. Airy and Ovaline Harris of Cornelia; sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Rev. Paul Bryson of Homer; grandchildren, Kasie and Shawn Weaver, Robbie Hughes, Seth Morris, Brian and Courtney Morris, Cheyenne Welborn, Tyler Welborn.
Memorial services are 3 pm on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Stonepile Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Bryson officiating. Â All family and friends are welcome to attend.
