HARTWELL, Ga. — The Hart County Sheriff’s Office is launching its first “Shop with the Sheriff” program to help local children in need have a brighter Christmas this year.
Sheriff Chris Carroll announced the new initiative on the agency’s Facebook page, encouraging residents to nominate families with children ages 6 to 13 who may need extra help during the holidays. The sheriff’s office will review applications and coordinate shopping trips for selected children.
Families must provide documentation as part of the application process, including a photo ID, proof of residence, income verification, birth certificates for the children, and any additional supporting materials.
Applications are available online through the link posted by the sheriff’s office or can be picked up in person at the Hart County Sheriff’s Office. The online form can be accessed here: https://acrobat.adobe.com/…/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:f97ab07d
The deadline to apply is Dec. 10, and all required documents must be submitted by that date.
The sheriff’s office is also seeking community support. Anyone wishing to donate to the program can contact the agency directly. Officials say contributions will help provide Christmas gifts for local children who may otherwise go without.
