Tallulah Falls (1-0) cruised to a 62-20 win over Towns County at Tallulah on Wednesday evening. The visiting Lady Indians (0-1) scored the first basket, but TFS went on a 38-0 run that went into the third frame.
Lia Sanjur and Marta Beltran were hot from beyond the arc throughout, combining for six 3-pointers (three each). Beltran hit a trifecta to beat the buzzer in the first as Tallulah was up 14-2.
The offense and defense were clicking the entire time, and a 24-0 second quarter resulted in a 38-2 halftime score. Scotlyn Fain hit a free throw in the third to end the massive run. Towns County got its offense going in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to knock a dent into the deficit.
Beltran led all scorers with a game-high 19 points, while LB Kafsky closed with 15, Sanjur 11, and Klara Dvorakova seven. Ines Gil Alejandro added five, Nora Mitchell and Mia Kerr had two apiece, and Linda White chipped in with one.
Towns County was led in scoring by Chloe Sutton (five points), while Ava Thompson had four. Fain, Jamie McCarter, and Megan Arrowood each had three, and Alaina Murphy added two.
