DEMOREST, Ga. — The annual Community Veterans Day program, hosted this year by Wilbanks Middle School, has been rescheduled due to Monday’s snow day.

The event will now take place on Wednesday, November 12, at 10 a.m. at Wilbanks Middle School in Demorest. Veterans are asked to arrive by 9:45 a.m., and a special reception will follow the ceremony.

Each year, Habersham County’s middle schools take turns hosting the communitywide program to honor local veterans for their service and sacrifice. Organizers say this year’s event will be “a very special day” and hope to see as many local veterans as possible in attendance.

Wilbanks art teacher Raegan Turner, who is helping coordinate the program, expressed appreciation to the community for its support and extended invitations for all veterans and the public to attend.
