Update: A federal judge in Rhode Island ordered the Trump Administration to fully fund SNAP benefits for the month of November by Friday November 7, 2025. The Trump Administration filed an appeal to the order.
According to the latest memo from the USDA, recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program were supposed to receive 65% of their monthly benefits for November but the Judge rejected that plan. When the funds will actually be disbursed is unclear.
The USDA is dipping into $4.65 billion in contingency funds after that same federal judge required the Trump Administration to tap into the emergency funds for 47 million Americans who rely on the benefits. Georgia’s Department of Human Services has not issued any new information about when exactly SNAP recipients will see those benefits as states around the country try to figure out how to recalculate the funds and then disburse them.
The Georgia DHS website hasn’t been updated since October 24, 2025, when SNAP beneficiaries were put on notice that benefits would not be available November 1, 2025.
