
Leoner Dill Butler, age 91, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Born on April 16, 1934, in Mt. Airy, she was a daughter of the late Herschel and Estelle Mote Dill. Leoner was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills. She enjoyed her animals and her flowers, listening to music and singing karaoke. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Claude Randy Butler; son, Steve Butler; daughters, Vickie Arrowood and Patricia Irvin; granddaughters, Jackie Johnson and Catlyn Butler; sisters, Willie Mae Robinson and Irene Hunnicutt; brothers, John Henry Dill and Omer Dill; several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Vera Scroggs (Robert), Tinie Lively (Len), Glenda Kay Hamilton (Buddy), and Wanda Miller (Tommy); sisters and brothers-in-law, Annie Wiley (James) and Betty Smith (the late Irvin); 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 27 great-great grandchildren; special friend, Jane Levy; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are 11 am on Friday, November 7, 2025, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire, with Rev. Jeremy Carlan and Rev. Eric S. Jarrett officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the funeral home.
