The Mt. Airy Baptist Church Choir performed during the town’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting.
It was a festive mood in Mt. Airy Tuesday as dozens turned out for the town’s annual Christmas tree lighting. For the second year running the celebration was held at the old Mt. Airy Schoolhouse, soon to become city hall.
The evening was punctuated by prayer and singing and featured, of course, Santa Claus. Attendee Bruce Pitts said, “God is still in Mt. Airy and still in this school.”
