
Columbus State University lead a Columbus, Ga. delegation to Korea this week to participate in the 2025 Jinju International Forum on Entrepreneurship in Jinju, South Korea, highlighting Southwest Georgia and the local spirit of servant leadership on the world stage according to a CSU press release.
CSU President Stuart Rayfield was accompanied by Muscogee County School Superintendent Dr. David Lewis and Mayor Skip Henderson among other dignitaries. The group toured JS Link, a South Korean company that recently announced a $223 million investment to build a permanent magnet manufacturing facility in Columbus and they also signed an agreement between Columbus State and Gyeongsang National University in Jinju for student and faculty exchange.
“Columbus State University is honored to represent our community and to bring together partners who share a vision for global connection and innovation,” said Stuart Rayfield, president of Columbus State University. “This experience will reinforce how higher education, business, and local leadership can work hand-in-hand to advance economic opportunity—both here at home and abroad.”
Mayor Skip Henderson posted on social media the City of Columbus signed a Sister City Agreement with the city of Jinju, Korea. “City Sister relationships foster international understanding and goodwill through cultural and economic exchanges and provide a framework for people-to-people diplomacy. These partnerships promote peace by encouraging citizens, officials, and businesses to connect and cooperate across national borders, leading to benefits like cultural enrichment, educational opportunities, and economic development. Jinju is Columbus’ fifth Sister City.”
