CLARKESVILLE, Ga. — Habersham County property owners should begin receiving their 2025 property tax bills in the mail starting Friday, October 17, according to the Tax Commissioner’s Office. All payments are due by December 19, 2025.
Tax Commissioner June Black-Warren said residents have several convenient ways to pay — online, by mail, or in person at the Tax Commissioner’s Office in Clarkesville. Drive-through service is also available at the county administration building. Payments may be dropped off in the secure drop box located at the drive-through and must be received by 5 p.m. on December 19 to be considered on time.
New this year, taxpayers can pay online using an E-Check for a flat $3 fee, offering a lower-cost alternative to credit or debit card payments, which carry a processing fee of about 3%.
County officials noted that this year’s bills were mailed slightly later than usual due to the implementation of new tax software and updates required under House Bill 581, which added additional steps to the property assessment and billing process.
Property owners whose taxes are paid through an escrow account do not need to take any action, as those payments are typically submitted by mortgage companies before the due date.
