A double shooting in Phenix City has left one man dead and a woman in critical condition according to police. On September 29, 2025, at approximately 9:40 p.m., officers from the Phenix City Police Department Patrol Division responded to the Brookwood Apartments on College Dr., in reference to a shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers located two individuals suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began administering first aid until EMT units arrived on scene.
A 31-year-old female from Phenix City was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional
Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The second victim, identified as 33-year-old LeNorris Boyd Jr. of Dothan, Alabama, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division responded and assumed control of the investigation.
A person of interest has been identified, and the case remains active.
