Marsha gained her angel wings and started her heavenly flight from St. Mary’s Hospital, Athens, GA. Peacefully with family at her side.
Marsha Lawana Broom Sutton, 68, of Danielsville, formally of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord and joined the love of her life, Terry, along with other family & friends on Aug 20, 2025.
Ms. Marsha was Born in Gainesville, GA. To the Late J.C. Broom & Betty Sue Loden Broom. She retired from Moring Side Assistant Living, where she had worked many years as a CNA and caretaker to many, doing what she loved; it was her passion and gift to take care of others. She was of the Baptist Faith. She loved the beach and being outside, taking care of not just people but also her plants, flowers, and animals.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Terry Sutton, Father J.C. Broom, Mother Betty Sue Loden Broom, her twin brother Marvin Broom, her brother-in-law Wayne Sutton, her brother-in-law Don Robinson, and her sister-in-law Elaine Sutton.
Survivors include her son, Jason Sutton, of Danielsville, Joseph Sutton and his fiancée, Stephane Suggs, her 2 sons, Tucker & Memphis of Lula. Sister and brother-in-law Pam & Larry Holland of Lula, Sister in-law (Margie) Feldt Gainesville, Brother-in-law (David) & Gail Sutton Clermont, sister-in-law (Mildred) Sutton Dahlonega, sister-in law (Linda) Sutton Cleveland. Sister-in-law (Carol) Sutton, Irvin & Jeff Irvin of Alto, Sister-in-law (Debbie) & Paul Davis of Cleveland.
Special nieces & nephews: (Alisha) & Joey Gamble, (Cathy) & Aaron Patton, (Michael) & Meghan Holland, (Brandy) & Cody Tucker, (Nathan) & His Son (Bryson) Shewbert, (Matthew) & Sarah Davis, (Katie) & Jaco Bezuidenhout, (Jake) & Tabitha Robinson, (Amber)& Tommy Donaldson, along with a host of other great & great-great niece’s & nephew’s, aunt’s uncle’s & cousins, that she loved dearly.
The Family would like to thank Doctors, Nurses, and Caregivers at St. Mary’s Hospital, Athens, Ga., for giving the very best, professional, personal, and loving care and support.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 P.M. Friday, August 22, 2025, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Rev. Brandon Dockery, Rev. Shane Turner & Rev. Kody Rylee will officiate.
Marsha will be laid to rest next to her Husband, Terry, at Gateway Memorial Park in Cleveland, Ga.
