A celebration 75 years in the making took place Friday in Clarkesville as people gathered to celebrate Sutton Tire’s milestone anniversary. The family-run business has been in operation in Habersham County continually since 1947.
Founder Lester Sutton’s son, Clark, and his wife, Jeanene, now own the business. They welcomed their family and friends to the celebration. State Rep. Victor Anderson was among the guests. He presented the Suttons with a proclamation passed by the Georgia House of Representatives recognizing the milestone occasion.

Sutton Tire was founded in 1947 and has operated from its shop on Highway 115 in Clarkesville since the early ’50s.
